How Do I Care For New Quartz Countertops?
Caring for quartz kitchen countertops takes virtually no extra work and no special cleaning products. It never has to be sealed, and most of the time can even just be cleaned with paper towels and some clean water.
“Bar Keepers Friend” is a highly recommended countertop cleaning product!
- Get a spray bottle and put 5 or 6 drops of mild dish soap, 1⁄2 bottle of rubbing alcohol and the rest water. Shake it and spray. Make sure to shake this every time you go to use it.
- Wipe down the countertop surface. It is necessary to wipe away any spill or crumbs on your countertops!
- Dry with a microfiber cloth to avoid streaking. Dry and buff your stone countertop thoroughly with a microfiber cloth or soft terry cloth towel to avoid streaking.
- Shine and disinfect with a water and isopropyl alcohol solution. To periodically disinfect your stone countertops, remove soap residue, and restore shine, mix together a 50:50 solution of water and 91% isopropyl alcohol. Spray onto the surface, allow to sit for 3-5 minutes, dry with a clean microfiber cloth.
